If You are turning 65, choosing a medicare plan can be a bit confusing. We are here to answer all your questions and provide you with the best possible quote for your needs. We have access to all of the top carriers for a solution and for a drug plan. If you have not applied for your red white and blue card, contact your local social security office or go their web site. With the higher healthcare premiums and deductibles, Supplemental Insurance is becoming increasingly popular. These plans can help to cover some of the expenses of those deductibles if something happens, especially catastrophic. By purchasing a supplemental policy, it often may allow for deductibles to be higher so that monthly premiums are lower.

We can also offer individual short term or long-term disability, cancer, hospital, accident, Long Term Care, catastrophic and short term health plans.

I have provided some information to help you understand how medicare works. Every situation is different so contact us for private meeting.

1. A Medicare Advantage Plan, also known as Part C, combines Part A and Part B as a replacement to Medicare for more comprehensive health care coverage. This plan can be customized with additional coverage, such as a prescription drug program (Part D), vision and dental.

2. A Medicare Supplemental Plan, also known as Medigap, has a higher premium but supplements the coverage gaps and deductibles that Part A and Part B leave behind.

  • Part A (hospital insurance): Covers hospital care, emergency services, nursing home care, home health services and hospice.
  • Part B (medical insurance): Covers medically necessary services and supplies used for diagnosing and treating medical conditions, and preventative services for illness prevention and/or early detection. Examples include ambulance services, mental health care, outpatient procedures and clinical research.
  • Part C: Combines Parts A and B and often part D as well.
  • Part D: Offers prescription drug coverage.

Most Medicare drug plans have a coverage gap (also called the “donut hole”). This means there’s a temporary limit on what the drug plan will cover for drugs. Not everyone will enter the coverage gap. The coverage gap begins after you and your drug plan have spent a certain amount for covered drugs.

In 2018 the donut hole will increase from $4,950 in 2017 to $5,000 in 2018. Coverage Gap (donut hole): begins once you reach your Medicare Part D plan’s initial coverage limit ($3,750 in 2018) and ends when you spend a total of $5,000 out of pocket in 2018.
